Joseba Intxausti has passed away. A pioneer and leader in the work in favour of the Basque language, he was the mastermind behind numerous key projects for the Basque language and culture. He showed a unique talent for achieving the engagement of numerous individuals and entities, even in very difficult historical moments.

He was a member of the historic Jakin Group and, among many other projects, was the driving force behind the creation of UZEI, of which he was the first director. He was always close and always generous. His death is a loss that will be difficult to replace.
